Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her land her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. The CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as an sports reporter. Then she moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Then she anchor and wrote on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She also did segments on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same job was held in Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She is the elder sibling of her parents. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. In the course of a few months, her father divorced from her mother and she was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. Her residence was at Canton Ohio with her older sister during the summer, where she had been offered the opportunity of a job. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she would like her life to be, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. She discovered that she was a fan of the campus and that the school had the program she desired. She graduated from high school and enrolled into media school at the college. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the manager at WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a part. Mark Bergmann inspired her to believe in herself and also his love for journalism deeply affected her. She, was determined to live up to his expectations and never let him down.
